Detailed Drupal instructions

Once the articles are published from Content Station:

  1. Sign into the website as an editor or admin.
  2. Go to the email newsletter dashboard, which will start you out on the content page.
  3. Scroll to the newsletter you want to schedule, using the links at the bottom of the page to go forward and backward in time as necessary.
  4. Click "Add story to newsletter" and search for the title of the article, recipe or magazine story you want to include in the newsletter. Anything that comes up with an "H" before the title has a hero image. Select the story from the results list and click "add." Repeat this step until you have all of the content in the newsletter. Note that Plats du Jour newsletter content searches will only return published recipes that have hero images.
  5. Articles and magazine stories will show a bit of introductory copy in the newsletter. Recipes will not, so for Plats du Jour, skip this step. Click the "edit" button to the far right of the first story in the newsletter. The headline field will appear in large font over the introductory copy for this story; add both bits of copy and click "Save". The edit screen will close when the system has saved your changes, which should then appear in the row next to the story's name. Repeat this step for each item in the newsletter.
    1. Temporary note for Plats du Jour: Recipes may pull in content from old editions. You'll need to overwrite this content with the headline and introductory copy for the newsletter added to every single recipe in the newsletter. (This labor-intensive step ensures that new copy, not old copy, appears on the recipe collection on the recipes section front.)
  6. At the top right of the page, click "email newsletter editions". This is where you'll put in the subject line and the introductory blurb for each newsletter EXCEPT On the Fly and Chefs on the Move. Just as for the individual items, click "edit", enter the copy and save.
  7. Another temporary step: Click back to the content page (using the button at the top right of the page). Scroll to this edition of the newsletter, grab the little + to the left of any story's name, and drag to change the order of the items in the newsletter. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "save". (This step manually sends the updated newsletter content to Knowledge Marketing.)
